Representative Kay Kellogg Katz

Louisiana State Director

Representative Kay Kellogg Katz previously served on the Monroe City Council, as the first woman elected in Monroe, where she was elected chairman of the Council and was a member of the city's Street Improvement Committee which oversees over 11 million dollars a year in expenditures. Kay is the current National Committeewoman for Louisiana on the Republican National Committee.

Kay was elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives in 1999 and is now serving her 2nd term. She serves on three House Committees, Health and Welfare, Transportation, Highways and Public Works, and Municipal, Parochial and Cultural Affairs.

Kay's civic involvement in the community, along with board member experience, includes memberships in PTA, Monroe Rotary, American Heart Association, Ouachita Parish Recycling Commission, Monroe Tree Board, Past Regent of Fort Miro Chapter DAR, Monroe Airport Advisory Board, Cerebral Palsy Telethon, Past President, Monroe Garden Club, Instructor for US Army School, ULM Tomahawk Club, and was named Quota Club "Woman of the Year".

An arts advocate, she is Past President of the Monroe Symphony and helped establish a permanent home for the Book Fair which supports Orchestra activities. Kay has served on the board of the NE Louisiana Arts Council, and received a governor's appointment to the Louisiana State Arts Council. She served as Vice President of Monroe Little Theatre during the organization and construction of the Children's Theatre. The Louisiana Museum Association selected her as Legislator of the year for 2000.

A Patron of the Arts, she has been associated with the Masur Museum, ULM Art Department, and ULM Foundation for the Performing Arts, The Children's Museum, Twin City Ballet, and Masterworks Chorus.

Kay has served as Louisiana DAR National Defense State Chairman and is a past Regent of Fort Miro DAR.

Kay is married to Ben Katz and has 3 children and one grandson. Ben and Kay are members of the First Presbyterian Church of Monroe.
